Those ratings will be published at www.alabamata.usta.com and will reflect only those names of players whose rating has changed. The appeal information will also be published on this same website so please make sure that your players are aware. The Birmingham ADULT WOMEN'S 40 & OVER LEAGUE will open on TennisLink August 6th with the initial team deadline being August 28th. Maximum number of players per team is sixteen as the format will be two singles and three doubles per match playing a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Remember to select 2016 as the championship year as the winning team(s) will compete in our 2016 Alabama Adult 40 & Over Championships.

To be eligible you must be 40 years of age or turn 40 by December 31, 2015. All players must be current members of USTA throughout the local league season.
TennisLink registration will open in Birmingham August 6th for the ADULT WOMEN'S 55 & OVER LEAGUE! On August 5th, simply go to www.alabamata.usta.com to see the list of players moved either up or down. The appeal information will be posted at this site also. DO NOT GO TO TENNISLINK TO FIND EARLY START LEAGUE RATINGS AS THEY ONLY PUBLISH YEAR END RATINGS.
The initial six players should be registered for your team no later than August 28th. BIRMINGHAM ADULT WOMEN 65 & OVER, FALL LEAGUE
Registration is open on TennisLink for the Birmingham ADULT WOMEN 65 & OVER WEEKDAY LEAGUE! The deadline to have your initial six players registered is Thursday, August 27th. We will not start play until mid September and hopefully the temps will be cooler then!
The early start league ratings are to be published August 5th with registration opening prior to publication as this league will not be using the early start league ratings. The ratings to be used for this registration are 2014 or prior years.
The 3.0 women will continue to play on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 while the 3.5 women will play on Thursday's at 1:30. The format is three courts of doubles per match playing a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. All players must be at least 65 or turn 65 by December 31, 2015.
Registration is open on TennisLink for the Birmingham FALL WEEKNIGHT WOMEN'S PREP LEAGUE with the initial team registration deadline being August 30th. The minimum age for this league is 18 so hopefully you will be able to find players to field the courts.
Last year we had teams at the 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 levels with all playing mainly on Tuesday nights at 6:30. There were a few weeks that we had to play on a different night due to court availability issues. We will play a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
The 2.5 level will play one singles and two doubles positions per match while the 3.0 and 3.5 levels will play two singles and three doubles per match. Maximum number of players per team is 16! The results from these matches do not count towards a players year end rating nor do the winning teams advance to an Alabama championship. This league offers the weeknight women an opportunity to "prep" for the winter league much the same as fall softcourt and doubles only does!
If there is interest in 4.0 and 4.5 levels of play, please email me and I'll see if we have enough for at least two teams. I would then add those levels to TennisLink for registration.

TennisLInk registration will open for the BIRINGHAM MIXED DOUBLES 18 & OVER AND 40 & OVER on August 6th with the initial team registration deadline being Tuesday, September 1st. The minimum number of players to be registered by this deadline is six; maximum number of players per team is fourteen. Do remember that there can be no more than a 1.0 spread between partners ratings.
League play will begin play mid September depending upon the number of teams that register for each level of play. The playday remains Sunday afternoon with 1:30 or 3:30 match times depending upon court availability. The format is three doubles courts per match with the 18 & Over mixed playing the best two of three sets while the 40 & Over mixed play a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Levels offered are as follows:

All players must be current members of USTA throughout the local league season and players must be registered on TennisLink prior to playing in a match. The TennisLink registration fee is $20.00 including the tennislink user fee of $3.00.
The winning teams from the early start league fall season will be eligible to advance to the 2016 Alabama Mixed Doubles Championships hosted by Dothan in September, 2016.
There has been some interest expressed in offering a fall 55 & Over mixed doubles league. If you are interested in forming a team at this level, please email me and if we have a minimum of two teams I will open registration.
