10 and Under Tennis Play Day Circuit

The 10 and under summer play day circuit is a first ever for Birmingham!

These events are for kids 10 and under who can somewhat serve, rally and keep score on a 60 foot court with orange balls. Players who cannot serve overhand yet will be allowed to bounce hit the serve.

Most events will run on a Saturday from 9:00am to noon.

Each player will play a minimum of three timed matches (30 minutes). The matches will be a mix of singles and doubles.

Boys and girls may or may not play against each other depending on how many of each register.

We will have hamburgers, hotdogs and/or pizza for the participants.

There will be five qualifying events and a "grand prix." To qualify for the grand prix, players must participate in at least two of the qualifying events. The grand prix will run more like a tournament.

For the first time at the tournament, all of Stadium Court's nearly 4,000 spectators will enjoy individual seats with backs. Lexus Inner Circle and Suite seats will feature padded, tip-up seats.

"Our focus is on great tennis, a fun festival-like environment, fan comfort and convenience. The new BB&T Atlanta Open Stadium Court will have all the advantages of a permanent seat venue while still being in one of the most unique sites on the ATP World Tour."

For the first time the Bryan brothers are scheduled to play the tournament. Host Families Sought for Exchange Students with Interest in Tennis

Host an international high school exchange student for a semester or academic school year with international Experience-USA www.ie-usa.com.

International Experience USA (iE-USA) is a non-profit educational exchange organization that supports high school students from around the world wishing to attend a US high school and live with an American host family for a semester or academic school year. We have a number of students from Germany, Montenegro, Spain, Thailand and Finland this year with a special interest in tennis, as well as many other activities, and hope you or someone you might know might be interested in hosting one of our great kids!

We are looking for wonderful hosts (traditional families, singles, empty-nesters, etc.) who would like to share their homes and hearts with these bright students. Visiting students are expected to participate as active members of the family and integrate into their host's routines, traditions and rules just like any other family member. Hosting an international student is a great way to open your family's eyes to the world, and promote a sense of lifelong learning and adventure.

Our students carry their own insurance and spending money for all other expenses (personal items, travel expenses, gifts, school and sports expenses, etc.) Our local iE representatives are ready to work with you personally and will help identify a student that will be a great match with your family.

For more information please give us a call at 888-266-2921 or visit our website www.ie-usa.com to learn more about our student applicants.
